A Basic Lesson On Cricket

On Wednesday in Te Ngahere we got the privilege to be given a lesson on the basics of cricket by an instructor whose name was Neil. First Neil taught us how we should hold our cricket bat which was to put both of your hands into a V shape then grip the handle of the bat.  He also taught us a cricket  stance which was to stand with your feet apart and one of your feet pointing to where you want your ball to go. After this we tried some drills which required us to get into pairs and practice batting the ball. Next we got to play a game of speed cricket. Speed cricket is just like normal cricket except it’s a lot faster. When we started cricket I was really hesitant to play because i’ve never even played cricket before but i’m grateful I tried because it ended up being a lot of fun.

Would you consider yourself a cricket rookie or expert?
