TECH

Last week on Wednesday the year 7 and 8s went to tech. We had to go on the bus to Morewera School. Once we got there the year 7s had to go into Mr E’s class for Wood Work and the year 8’s had to do cooking. Before we got to use the machines we had to do some safety worksheets. At Morning Tea time we got to go and play until the bell rang.  When we went back inside we got to see what all the tools did and their names. Then lunch came around and we just played games until the bell rang. Then we got to play around with the wood and the machines safely we made some jewellery, I made a cool hook.
I was a bit nervous at the start but I loved it, I can’t wait to go again.

                                                   Have you ever done tech?

 Maths whizz
This week we got the privilege to play a really cool maths website for free called Math whizz. Usually this game is really expensive but first we get to trial the game to see if it suits the curriculum of individual students and if it comes out useful to the students  we get to keep on doing it . Personally I think that this maths website is really exciting and I think we should keep doing the website. First we we're given a login for the website them we got to take a determination test which determines which level your on and makes a personalized game that suits your academic level. I  think this game is really fun and useful and I also asked other kids in the class and they also thought this game was fun and they learned lots of new things. So I really hope the teachers decide to keep letting us do this maths website.

Our walk to the Ngahere

On Tuesday the 10/2/2020 our class went to the Ngahere. We were split into three groups. One group was with Whea chrissy, another one was with Gina and the last group was with Whea Veronica. I was in Whea Ronies group. We walked over to the Ngahere in a big group. When we got there we came across this sign were we had to clean our shoes to protect the Kauri trees because there is this microscopic fungus like organism, called Phytophthora agathidicia which lives in the soil and infects Kauri trees. After that we followed the path into the Ngahere. We saw heaps of cool things like these. We talked about all of the textures and different colours in the Ngahere. After we talked and discussed everything we then decided to head back to school so that we could make it in time to morning tea.

Turbo Touch

TURBO TOUCH
Turbo Touch is a really fun game, it’s mostly about skill and teamwork.
The rules are pretty simple, don’t drop the ball
you can’t hold the ball for more than two seconds, you have to pass the ball more than two times to open the try line (Active Zone), don’t kick the ball at all or it’s a hand over.

Alright, now out of the way with the boring rules it’s a really fun game when you practise. A really good trick to learn is your passing skills if you’re really strong. You can football pass it to your teammates if you want.I liked our teamwork during the game it was surprisingly really good.
I didn’t like how when we vs a team then won they would get really salty
and mad at us.I could have worked a bit harder at my teamwork but we managed.
