Weird Or Wonderful Fish?

Kia ora today Grace,my mum and me went for a walk on our local beach and we came along a majestic fish we had no idea what it was? Grace had an idea that it was a unicorn fish but they have longer horns.

So we continued walking down the beach and we decided to turn around and we started talking about what type it was and then my mum said it would make a great blog post so when we found it i dug a big hole around it while my mum and sister went to get her phone and once they got to me the fish started to float away so i had to run in the water and grab it so we could take a photo.

Please tell me if you know what type of fish it is?

Well until we meet next time, Blog you later!

This week we have been working with what people on the war have done for us and help us live a normal happy live. They all went to world war/wars to protect us. My person was Owen Herbert Mead and he fought for the NZ army. He fought in world war one and world war two. He died in 1942 when he was 50 years old. He worked really hard for us to have a life with no wars our fighting between the countries so we could explore the world and look at the different country around us. We thank them for everything they did and how hard they worked. Although some of them died they still live with us. Do you think they worked hard too?

Students from Te Ngahere (including me) did some Summer Learning Journey Activities. For Activity 1, Before we leave the airport and go to our hotel, we will want to learn how to say hello in the language of your country. We had to answer What language does your country use?. We had to use Google translate to read and listen to simple phrases in our country's language!. Then Write 6 -8 useful phrases in our country's language we chose to 'visit' and Record the english version and the translation. If we were going to Canada, United Kingdom or Australia, we had to try and find 6-8 useful slang words/phrases. For example ice block is ice pop in Canada and ice lolly in England. For Activity 2, once we read these phrases we will be ready to leave the airport and head to our hotel. We had to Take a moment and imagine how we might feel if you were standing in the airport in a foreign country and you had to figure out how to communicate with people in a brand new language. Would we be scared? Would we feel confident?. We had to write a short poem that describes how we might be feeling (i.e. excited, happy, scared, nervous, etc) or Take a selfie that captures how you might be feeling and write a descriptive paragraph about how you may be feeling. For the Bonus Activity we had to Translate the following five basic travel phrases into Spanish, German, Malaysian, Japanese, Arabic or Afrikaans. Use the (Google Translate website) to do the translations.
 - When is the next bus?
 - I'm from _______ in New Zealand
 - Sorry, I don't speak (German/ Spanish etc).
 - Which direction is the supermarket?
 - Thank you, have a nice day!
Here is my Summer Learning Journey Activities: Hope you enjoy it!

Kia ora Bloggers. during Lockdown my dad and I have been doing bike riding in the Waitangi mountain bike park. For Christmas I got an e bike so we can race around the park more often, my dad also has an e bike. My favourite track is Chaos Chaos Chaos because it is a downhill track with turns and table tops for doing jumps. On an average ride we would do about 23 kilometres. have you ever ridden an ebike ?

 Summer Learning Journey
Due to Covid 19 our school has closed and we are lucky enough
to have chromebooks and using our chromebooks we do digital
learning from home. This week we did something called a
Summer Learning Journey. With this specific SLJ activity we
had 10 countries. We then chose one out of the ten countries
we would like to visit then we had to justify why we chose that
country and then write 3 facts about that country. I ended up
picking Australia out of the 10 Countries.
The easy part of this SLJ was definitely why I would want to visit Australia because justifying my answer was easy but finding the different facts we're hard because I found facts but they were already on the site we used and we had to find different facts.  Do you know any fun facts about Australia?

Kia ora, in Te Ngahere we have been doing this activity, called the Summer Learning Journey, you may have heard of this, but it is not the same programme. There were 10 countries we could choose from, if we had to travel somewhere on Earth. The countries were, Australia, Canada, Chile, England, Germany, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Qatar and South Africa. I chose Germany, here are the reasons why, and some here are some quick facts about Germany.

If I was travelling to one of these countries as a tourist, I would go to Germany, here are some reasons why. The rate of crime is low, AT THE MOMENT. The Healthcare System is funded by the Government to ensure that it’s free for everyone, so I don’t have to worry about paying for something if I’m hurt (this doesn’t mean I would get hurt purposely). The architecture in Germany is great as well, and it’s a very peaceful country. It allows Refugees in through the land border, and welcomes them. Germany has a few stunning landmarks, and historical landmarks.

Here are some interesting facts about Germany:

  1. Germany has the largest economy in Europe.
  2. Germany is in the phase of wiping Nuclear Power Plants out.
  3. Over 100 Germans have won the Nobel Prize, including Albert Einstein.
What country would you have chosen? I hope you enjoyed this post, stay safe. Goodbye.
