PROJECT ISLAND SONG!
n Thursday twenty of the year fives & twenty of the year sixes participated in the Project Island Song to learn about why we should keep the island pest-free. Project Island Song is a place where kids can learn more about pest, planting trees & why they are important.
There are seven pest-free islands, we went to the biggest one, it’s called Urupukapuka island & we also went to Cable bay which was on the island. It was super fun because we got to plant trees, make rat traps & two of the groups got to make weta homes.
My favorite part was when we were near the end because we got to go for a little walk & we heard & saw heaps of different native birds, I think we were really lucky because we got to see a Saddleback.
