The Tasty Pizza

 On Tuesday the year sevens and eights went to Moerewa school to do technology. The year sevens had cooking and the year eights had woodwork. I was in cooking class with all of the year sevens and we made pizza. For the bread base we had yeast and warm water and sugar so the yeast could rise in the warming draw.  we prepared the  toppings  and they were tomato, onions, mushrooms, garlic, capsacum, bacon, cheese, oregano. Then we let the yeast and stuff in the warming draw for a few minutes. Well we were waiting we got all the dry ingredients that  were flour, milk powder to make it soft and  a pinch of salt. Then the yeast and stuff was ready so we pulled it out of the warming draw and we combined the dry ingredients and mixed it. Then we needed the dough and put  it back in the bowl to rise. We let it sit then we rolled it out and put the toppings on and put it in the oven. Then we rinsed all our dishes and put them to the side and wiped our unites down. We cooked it for 20 minutes. It was delicious. Have you ever made pizza?

Smart Relationships

Kia ora everyone, in Te Ngahere this week we have been learning about Smart Relationships/being smart online. The reason we are doing this to help us be smart on the internet and also be careful with what we write and what we post. From watching the video that the teacher gave us about being safe online we have learnt to never give out personal information like your email address, phone number etc because then random people can know where you live and how to contact you which isn’t safe. The video that we watched was 8 minutes long. We all really enjoyed doing this activity because it was really fun and it now we are all going to be very careful online with what we post or text people. After we did this activity we started to make a DLO so that we could give people advice to be safe online. The thing that was most different for us would be making the DLO because we all have to make it fun and exciting and not boring and making you want to sleep. Do you always be safe when you are online?

Slow Start To Tech

In Te Ngahere the year 7 and 8’s went to tech and I am a year 8. I was in hard material class with Mr E. In the morning Mr E was explaining the rules of the power tools and hand tools (actually it took awhile, it was a bit of a slow start) after that Mr E told us the instructions of the techroom. Then he made us fill out a safety rules form then it was morning tea. We got something to eat and played touch for a bit then came back inside. Then after morning tea he gave us a strip of wood and we had to make a waka with the wood he had given us. So far we have only measured and drawn the outline of the waka. I think I managed pretty well for listening to all the instructions because Mr E took awhile to explain all of the instructions and I'm normally not that patient.

Can you Follow Instructions?

Kia ora and welcome back to school. In Te Ngahere we have already been given a reading test. The test determined if the students in Te Ngahere could follow instructions. We had 23 instructions listed on the left side of the paper and had to complete the the test in 4 minutes.

The first question we read stated, read everything carefully before doing anything. I think no one understood what that meant because they started doing the test. As soon as number 23 was read it stated to only do questions 1 & 2.

Everyone should have read number 1 carefully so it wouldn’t have turned out to be wrong. Have you ever done an activity like this? Hope you enjoyed.

The Biggest Discovery For The Coastal Seas

In Te Ngahere these past few days our class have been learning about our planet and all the animals that live in the Coastal Seas, what they rely on and what they need. First of all we had to watch a video about our planet that was called ‘Our Planet; Coastal Seas’ on netflix. While we were watching the video we were writing down all of our notes thats we could, we had to a least get 10 facts. After that we had to make a DLO about all the facts that we just learnt. We all really enjoyed this because we got to learn a lot about whales, sharks, dolphins etc. Our class really enjoyed this so I think that we would want to do it again because it wasn’t hard and didn’t take long to finish.
